News update - new minibus regulations 2011-2012 Over the next 12 months there are many changes in the industry that will effect minibus operation & production, this has created long lead times for minibuses from the manufactures at present typically between 12-16 weeks minimum from date of order. Abacus Minibuses has advanced orders placed with several manufacturers and currently have Peugeot Boxer minibuses in stock ready for conversion to 9-17 seat or accessible vehicles.
LEZ Low Emission Zone London
From 3 January 2012 the Low Emission Zone is changing. More vehicle types will be affected, and standards for vehicles already affected will be tightening for both private and commercial use.
- Minibuses (with more than 8 passenger seats)
- 5 tonnes or less Gross Vehicle Weight
- Vehicles (not including cars and motorcycles) registered as new before 1 January 2002

National Type Approval
Minibus regulations are changing from October 29th (2011 registration). Minibuses with more than 8 passenger seats will come under National Type Approval, this is to bring the UK in line with the EU regulations for
passenger vehicles tested and administered by VOSA and VCA. You can be assured Abacus Minibuses over the last three years have been building minibuses with this mind putting in resources of design and manufacturing process making sure we meet the new regulations.
To B or not to B - Minibus Driving License
